Sunday last (7 June) proved an amazing day – both for the great sunny weather but also in SE16 for the packed park full of families enjoying a shared picnic in King George’s Field. The day was organised by a dedicated team of volunteers who had been working away with the Council and local businesses since March. All the kids were welcome to take part in activities ranging from volleyball to face painting, football to French cricket. At the same time, neighbours from across the area got to know each other over picnic goodies. About 350 people came along during the afternoon (13:00-16:00) and the whole day was blessed with fantastic sunshine.

A glorious Sunday afternoon
