Galleywall Nature Reserve are looking for someone to create and publicise a series of free public events at Galleywall Nature Reserve in spring/summer 2016. These could be low-key or larger; previous events have included a beekeeper visit, sign-painting, arts and crafts, a Pop-Up Parks day, forest school taster sessions, schools visits, and social events. There is a small budget available to run and publicise the events.
The aim is to increase the number of local people using the reserve (including schools or special interest groups as well as the general public), so publicity would be an important part of the role.
Galleywall Events Organiser
We’re looking for a commitment of 2-4 hours a week during spring/summer 2016, preferably including some time spent in the local area talking to people face-to-face (so you should either live locally or be prepared to travel). You’d need to be able to attend at least some of the events you organise (but not necessarily all), but needn’t run all (or any!) of them yourself. You’d be working with our social media co-ordinator on the publicity side of things.
The commitment during winter 2015, while planning the events, would be 1 hr a week or less.
We’d prefer someone with some (can be very small) experience of publicity and event planning, but if you’re keen to learn but don’t have experience please do get in touch anyway!
