Situated within Surrey Docks Farm, right on the Thames Path, Piccalilli Caff opened its doors on January 14th of this year. Craig and Scarlett are the proud Management team of their little gem in SE16. We welcome back Craig, who you may well remember from Frizzante and previously ran their café.

A couple in real life, Craig and Scarlett share a passion for good simple food at affordable prices. The menu at Piccalilli Caff reflects what they both enjoy to eat and drink. ‘A simple daily menu, good coffee and tea, fresh juices and homemade cakes’

Piccalilli Caff now employs 12, including Craig’s brother Peter. Visit the Caff at the weekend and you will know why they have the extra staff. It attracts the cyclists and walkers from the Thames Path and regulars love the hearty breakfast! During the week, the cafe attracts in a different crowd, welcoming mainly parents and toddlers.

The Caff re-opened its doors with a new layout and new décor. The inside area is now very spacious and the covered outside area is very welcoming.

Customers return because the menu offers excellent food. There is no freezer so everything is cooked from scratch. Craig has an early 4am commitment with Spitalfields and Smithfields a few mornings in the week. The menu is reviewed and tweaked every few months or so. The brunch menu is particularly well received as is the pork ragu which has been a constant on Craig’s menu for about 4 years.

The next 6-12months are going to be very busy for Piccalilli Caff. They are finding their feet and becoming established in SE16, as well as receiving lots of requests for outside catering, cooking classes, food festivals.

It’s obvious all of the Piccalilli team love their job. It’s right on the Thames Path, a truly amazing location. They love chatting and receiving feedback from their customers.
